It's on a 390 machine that we used this fix for, as it was the only way to get rid of the 52 and 1054 errors.SWRTechnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8915059823103917449.post-43031005545262789802012-03-14T17:58:06.275+00:002012-03-14T17:58:06.275+00:00This post was a lifesaver. When I started getting event id 1054 on some newly purchased 390's I started looking toward NIC drivers, but having found none that work I stumbled on this post. Tested on one machine, restarted and it instantly started installing software. I have added the line to our build and am currently building two more to test. We are planning on moving to Windows 7 later this year but this fix has helped me out for the next few months until I can say goodbye to XP.

Thanks!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8915059823103917449.post-20876235674326838532011-10-21T14:46:16.136+01:002011-10-21T14:46:16.136+01:00You the man!! I also couldn't image those via Altiris until I added that NIC to the WinPE preboot, so I was afraid they were going to cause more grief. If you are then it may be worth looking into MDT as a means of deployment, the initial learning curve is well worth it for future deployments as you simply import the drivers for the new model in and boot from the network.

We will be putting together a basic getting started guide for setting up and deploying windows XP using MDT soon, if you would like to be a guinnea pig for these articles please let me know and i'll see what we can do for you.NovaMarchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10838900352294325303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8915059823103917449.post-71372964519136397422011-09-19T14:27:42.802+01:002011-09-19T14:27:42.802+01:00I downloaded the driver cab and unzipped it, but I...I downloaded the driver cab and unzipped it, but I didn’t see the “F6” drivers. There are 3 subfolders under the chipset folder, but I am not sure if either one of them are the F6 drivers that I am looking for.

Do you happen to know or can point me in the direction of the SATA drivers that I will need in order to do a single installation of Windows XP on the 390?

I also took at look at the Precision T1600, and I clearly see the F6 SATA drivers for that particular PC. Solved the exact same problem for me.

I've seen this before with Dell Vostro PCs (and built in Realtek network interfaces), and managed to fix it by trying different versions of the driver. I didn't manage to find a version of the driver for this system that would work though, but your method worked first time.

I wonder if this registry change you are using is the same is disabling auto sense on the adapter settings?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
